Fundraiser for Low-Income Families at Dodger Stadium
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - Although they didn’t make it to the World Series, the Dodgers are still swinging for the fences to help Downtown kids.
The Home Run for Kids, an annual fundraiser for Para Los Ninos, a Downtown-based organization that helps low-income families, will take place Sunday, Nov. 15, at Dodger Stadium.
The noon-4 p.m. event will include Dodger great Wes Parker and outfielder Matt Kemp, who will be signing autographs. There will also be stadium tours, a suite where fans can get massages, Dodger food, and arts and crafts for kids.
Attendees will be able to show off their baseball skills and take batting practice at home plate. With Manny Ramirez not meeting expectations this season, the Dodgers could be looking for their next slugger at the fundraising event.
Tickets are $195 for adults and $60 for children ages 6-18. Para Los Ninos officials hope to raise $300,000 for its educational and after-school care programs. Tickets and information are at (213) 250-4800 ext. 555 or homerunforkids.com.
