Giant Robot Finale
Last Weekend to Check Out Asian-American Pop Culture Exhibit
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - This is the last weekend to check out Giant Robot Biennale at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo.
The exhibit, which closes Sunday, Jan. 24, highlights artists associated with the magazine Giant Robot. The publication that began as a stapled-and-folded, photocopied digest in 1994 has grown into a full-fledged glossy focused on Asian and Asian-American pop culture.
The JANM show, curated by Giant Robot co-founder and co-editor Eric Nakamura, includes a retrospective of photographs by magazine contributor Ben Clark and custom videogames featuring visuals by some of Giant Robot’s favorite artists. At 369 E. First St., (213) 625-0414 or janm.org.
