Members of the New Buffalo Soldiers, an organization that portrays the African American Cavalry created just after the Civil War, on February 23 will set up an outdoor encampment at the Los Angeles Public Library.

As part of a free teen program honoring Black History month, "Company H of the Tenth U.S. Cavalry" will dress in period military attire and discuss the historical role the soldiers played in America's military past. Several members will arrive on horseback. The event takes place at the Library's Maguire Gardens, 630 West Fifth Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call (213) 228-7223.
