DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - The shuttle from Union Station to Dodger Stadium will return for at least two more seasons. Metro officials announced last week that the Dodger Stadium Express bus will continue through at least the 2014 season.
A two-year $1.1 million environmental protection grant — provided by a coalition of city and county entities — was recently awarded to Metro to fund the service. Buses will start rolling 90 minutes before games and will stop picking up passengers 45 minutes after the final out. The ride is free to Dodger ticket holders and $1.50 for those without tickets. The express will depart from the Patsaouras Bus Plaza adjacent to the east portal of Union Station. Passengers will be dropped off and then picked up in the Dodger parking lot behind left-center field. This is the fourth year the Dodger Express has been provided. Last year the program transported more than 136,000 fans to games.
