DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Conservancy on Monday honored four photographers who, through their work, have highlighted L.A.’s mid-century modernist architecture.

Jack Laxer, Leland Lee, Marvin Rand and Julius Shulman received tributes during the Conservancy Modern Committee’s annual holiday party on Monday, Dec. 21. The event, held on the 26th floor of City Hall, featured a slide show of works by the four photographers.

The Conservancy’s Modern Committee is dedicated to preserving resources that exemplify mid-century modernism. According to a Conservancy press release, the photographers honored Monday helped build support for preserving L.A.’s modernist structures through their work.
