Massive Liquidation Sale at Hotel Figueroa Starts Thursday

The historic Hotel Figueroa closed late last month for a major renovation that will carry on into summer 2016.

As part of the overhaul, hotel owners Green Oak and Urban Lifestyle are selling nearly every furnishing, fixture, artwork, architectural artifact, and piece of equipment in the South Park structure. The public liquidation sale kicks off on Thursday, Dec. 3, and runs through Dec. 31.

Three floors of the hotel will be filled with the items, and visitors can shop between 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday. Cash, Visa or Mastercard is accepted. A photo I.D. is required for all sales.

The liquidation is being conducted by International Content Liquidators, which tackled similar work at the original Wilshire Grand hotel several years ago. More information on the Hotel Figueroa sale is at (213) 222-3101 or, which has a catalog of items with photos.

The Hotel Figueroa was built in 1925 and served as a YWCA before being converted to a hotel after the Great Depression. The renovation of the hotel will change the longstanding Moroccan aesthetic to a Spanish Colonial design style with modern amenities and features.

The renovated 285-room hotel will be managed by HHM Hospitality, which operates more than 100 hotels around the country.
