Dear Editor
Regarding your article "El Pueblo to Get New Transportation Museum" in the March 12 issue, I'd like to offer some corrections.
It was not the Huntington Hartford railway network, it was the Henry Huntington railway network. This was the Pacific Electric, the "Red Cars." PE did not reach San Diego. It only went as far as Newport Beach, but it intended to. The line ran from 1902 to 1961.
There is often a confusion between the Yellow Car (local) and the Red Car (interurban) systems. The substation in the article served the Yellow Car (Los Angeles Railway) system.
